I (finally) got Tickets to 2017 SDCC . Now I have to figure out how to get there (another story) and where to stay...
I'm trying to figure both of those out without going on public assistance for the rest of the year. Hotels in San Diego on a normal weekend go for about 200.00 a night . I am more of a frugal aka Cheap ass on Hotels. For SDCC from July 18, 2017 until July 23, 2017, the average hotel goes for $ 500.00 a night. I AIN'T SPENDING 2000.00 ON NO HOTEL ROOM UNTIL I MAKE MY FIRST BILLION DOLLARS.
So I received a email last Week about the SDCC Hotel Lottery.
It’s going to be on April 26th this year (on a weekday as usual–Wednesday) at 9am PST, 12pm EST. As usual, though, the waiting room opens at 8am.
Interested in the hotel list? It can be found here!
The form will not open until 9:00 AM PDT on April 26, 2017 and until then, the link will only grant you access to the waiting room one hour prior to the opening.
Opening the link prior to opening day will only take you to a page indicating you are in the right place and to check back on opening day.
The Waiting Room (April 26 | 8:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time)
Beginning at 8:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT), you may access the waiting room via the link in your email. The time you enter the waiting room has no impact on your position in line. At 9:00 AM PDT, all users in the waiting room will be granted access to the form in random order. If you enter the waiting room after 9:00 AM PDT, you will be placed at the end of the line. From within the waiting room, you will have an opportunity to view a sample version of the form to review hotel options, rates and form instructions, in advance of the opening. You will also have access to a browser check form which allow you to perform a simple check for any browser issues that may impact the performance of the form. Both resources have also been made available for you on this page (below).
Placing Your Requests (April 26 | 9:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time)
The hotel request form officially opens on Wednesday, April 26 at 9:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time. On this date, you will need to submit your request via the online form or over the phone. Once the maximum number of requests have been received the form will shut down and callers will no longer be able to submit a request.Well, this presents TWO problems:
1. I have to work. It's Hump Day
2. I might not get picked at all. It's all random.
Who came up with this system?? The rates for the Hotels are better but still will be around 1200.00 for 5 days.
I might be sleeping on the beach..........
