Where do Babies Come from?
That is the central principal of Dreamworks latest children's movie, The Boss Baby. Over the past year or so, Dreamworks has been putting in work making quality kids movies that adults can enjoy right along with their children. Dreamwork, along with Universal animation have really closed the gap with Disney on making quality animation for kids and their adult overlords.
That being said, Boss Baby is another quality entry for DreamWorks. The story is based upon the idea that babies, when born are put into one of two categories: One category is baby- who goes to live their lives with a family like we all did. The other category is Upper Management. These babies are not sent to live with families, but to work at Baby Co- the large Baby company charged with making sure babies keep their place as the Number 1 cute thing in society( not puppies, more on that later)
In this movie tho, our Boss Baby, voiced by Alec Baldwin, gets sent from the heavens of Baby Co to a family, whose job at a multi national pet company could jeopardize babies number one spot as the cutest things on Earth. Baldwin gets sent to the family, who already has a son, and having been the only child for many years, he is naturally jealous of the new baby. Throw in the fact that the new baby is acting very suspicious ,can talk, and even has a gang of other babies doing his dirty work- obvious shenanigans ensue.
The movie is fun and light, but like all Dreamwork movies, it has some heart to is about learning what is truly important and how to get along- even if you do not agree. I will not spoil the entire movie, but again, this is a quality family film that kids and adults will enjoy! If you are looking for a family movie to take the whole family to, I highly recommend The Boss Baby. BUT if you are looking to save a few dollars, it will be a great RedBox rental in a couple of months!
The Boss Baby get a Brothascomics approval. I would give it 3.5/5 stars.
